1. Sleep and wake up early. Early to bed and early to rise does not only make you wise, but also keeps your skin healthy. The best rest is early sleep especially sleep before midnight. While you sleep, your skin renews itself. It has been found that these hours of sleep coincide with the replenishment time of repair hormones and the body’s repair mechanisms. Too many of us, nowadays, are cutting rest to a minimum, either because of work or by indulging in pleasure such as watching TV. “Making up for lost sleep” habitually will never be healthy and will cost dearly.
2. Eat a balanced diet. Easier said than done and seems to be overrated but what’s good for your body is good for your skin. Go easy on the fatty and sweet stuff and eat more vegetables and fruits. It will also be helpful to limit your caffeine and alcohol intake since these substances dehydrate your body and skin as well. If your a coffee-lover, make sure to wash it away from your body by drinking a lot of water. By doing this, your body will receive the right amount of moisture and your overall health will improve.
3. Touching is a no-no. No matter how unrelaxed you are, do not touch your face. Touching your face spreads the bacteria causing inflamed pores and irritated skin.
4. Prevention is better than cure. Don’t wait for acne breakouts to increase before performing a better hygiene. Wash your face using a cleanser that’s hypoallergenic. More often than not, baby products make use of delicate ingredients, thus, making them safer to use. Also use cleansers that are water-based and have antibacterial properties to fight pimples. Rub cleansers gently to skin, rinse and pat it dry.
5. Discipline is a must. Adherence to good hygienic measures such as given above is the key to maintain a glowing skin appearance.
